This was one of the first anime films I ever owned on the DVD format (actually the first film I ever owned on DVD) and is easily in my top 50 movies ever. A beautiful film that everyone should see at least once and is one that also owes a debt to the 1927 Fritz Lang Metropolis.
Although Katsuhiro Otomo's Memories was my first and my favorite anime anthology film, Robot Carnival is a classic in its own right especially here in the West. Let's dive right in.
